    Join the Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association for our August 2026 General Body Meeting, honoring the birthday of Representative Gwen S. Cherry. The meeting will feature an important discussion on Women in Elections & Politics. ⚖️ ️

    Following the discussion, we’ll Walk to History with a guided tour of the historic Lawson E. Thomas Building, the first Black-owned law office in the South and the first Black law practice in Dade County.

    ⚖️ 1.0 General CLE Credit approved

     Special thanks to the Southeast Overtown/Park West CRA for supporting this program and helping us celebrate the history, leadership, and legacy of Overtown. The meeting will take place at the Black Archives Lyric Theater, Multi-Purpose Room - 819 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33136.
